Leyburn & The Dales

Our cottages in the dales near Leyburn are a hand picked selection of beautifully secluded self catered cottages on a private estate above Bainbridge, North Yorkshire.

We would also recommend Yorebridge House in Bainbridge as well as the famous Wensleydale Heifer - incredible for it's wonderful seafood.

Lake Semerwater is only a few minutes away or a wonderful hack using our equestrian school.

Wensleydale Equestrian Centre is a wonderful way to combine some outside enjoyment with your holiday. As well as equestrian escapes in the dales Gill Edge also gives fantastic opportunity to go walking anywhere around the Yorkshire Dales, popular spots being Hawes, Ingleton, or Leyburn and Masham where great pubs can also be found!

Walks around Wensleydale can also be broken up with a visit to Hardraw Force a few minutes from Gill Edge Cottages.

When staying in Wensleydale you will have chance to sample the wonderful local Yorkshire attractions such as the Wensleydale Creamery (Where Adam once used to make cheese!) and now more famous for Wallace & Gromit's approval! Walk from there to Gayle Mill, on BBC Restoration programme or even visit the infamous 'Hawes Rope Makers'!

In Leyburn which is a 15 minute drive you will find a good local Yorkshire produce market on a Friday and on the way you can also visit the Aysgarth Falls - where Robin Hood fought with Little John in the Hollywood blockbuster set in Yorkshire!

Skipton & The Dales

We are now looking for properties to represent in Skipton and it's wonderful surrounding area.

Adam from Superior Stay grew up around Coniston and Kilnsey Crag so Wharfdale walking and enjoying the Yorkshire Dales around Skipton is close to our hearts.

If you are wishing to enjoy the dales why not take a trip to Grassington where you will find a wondeful Yorkshire village of beauty and tradition, from it's very own music festival to the Dickensian Christmas.

Alternatively try Skipton and one of it's many surrounding well served village country pubs in Yorkshire such as the Angel Inn at Hetton - excellent for sea food.

Also in this area is the historic and majestic Bolton Abbey with it's ancient woodland walks by The Strid or a perfect afternoon tea at Devonshire Arms, Skipton. You can even land your helicopter there!

Please do not forget Thomas the Tank Engine at Embsay Steam Railway whilst you are here - a treat for the whole family!
